Dentistry: regional systems compared 2014

A study, carried out by the AIO in collaboration with Eurispes, on the authorisation rules governing the dentistry sector, comparing the different regional systems. In the study, the situation in the Lazio Region is analysed as a case study. Here, in particular, the combination of reforms and extreme bureaucratisation has led to a paradoxical situation in terms of the authorisations required to open a practice or outpatient clinic. This has particularly affected dentists. Although dentists legally belong to the professional category of doctors, a dentist wishing to open a dental practice has to deal with a much more intricate and complicated bureaucratic process than a doctor.
