The Families Observatory

Over the years, the Eurispes has produced numerous and innovative studies and surveys on the theme of the family and the socio-economic trends that have changed its structure.

The observatory has been actively monitoring the consequences of the introduction of divorce and separation laws, the birth of what we first defined as “stepfamilies” or “recomposed families”, the rise of assisted procreation, the changing role of women, the new “housewife” males and the support, not only in economic terms, offered by parents to young couples.

Aware of the fact that today, we do not have to focus on a single, well-defined model, but on the diverse new ways of being a family, the Eurispes has decided to update its monitoring of the various phenomena affecting the family by establishing the Permanent Families Observatory.

Dr Raffaella Saso coordinates the Observatory.
