Director of Medical Oncology at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori “Regina Elena”, Rome, where it operates since 1979 and where he was scientific director from 2001 to 2006. Member of the National Oncology Commission; the Working Group of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers on infrastructures and networks of excellence at European level in the field of biomedical and biotechnology security; the Superior Council of Health. He is member of numerous national and international specialized agencies, including the ASCO-American Society of Clinical Oncology; he is Italian representative and member of the European ESMO. He teaches Oncology Clinic at the II School of Specialization in Oncology at the University “La Sapienza” of Rome. Chairman of the Scientific Council of the School of Oncology.
