Selçuk Çolakoğlu

Professor of International Relations in Ankara, Turkey
Selçuk Çolakoğlu received his BA from the Department of International Relations at Ankara University, his MA from the Department of International Relations at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara and completed his PhD at the Department of International Relations at Ankara University in 2003. He worked as a visiting professor at the Department of Turkish Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in Seoul, South Korea (1999-2001). He became Associate Professor of International Relations in 2008. He served as Vice Dean of the Nazilli Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (2006-2007), Chairman of the Department of International Relations (2008-2012) and Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences (2011-2012) at Adnan Menderes University in Aydın.
He became Professor of International Relations at Yıldırım Beyazıt University in Ankara in 2013. He was a visiting researcher at the Korea Foundation in Seoul in 2007, at The Near East and South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Research at the National Defense University in Washington, DC in 2013, and the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) in Sejong, in 2015. He was a consultant for the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey (2011-2013 ) and Vice President of the International Organization for Strategic Research (USAK) (2013-2016). Dr. Çolakoğlu is currently Director of the Turkish Centre for Asia-Pacific Studies (APAC) in Ankara, Turkey.
His research interests include foreign policy, international security, globalisation, global governance, G20, BRICS and MIKTA.
He is a member of the Turkish Council of International Relations (UIK). In addition, he is co-editor of the Review of International Law & Politics.
He has published articles in East Asia, Korea Observer, Global Summitry, Asian Communication Research, China Media Research, Studia Europaea, Studia Regionalia, Review of International Law & Politics, Journal of Central Asian & Caucasian Studies, Pakistan Muslim Perspectives, Turkish Yearbook of Asia-Pacific Studies, Ankara Review of European Studies, Bilig, and Uluslararası İlişkiler.
