Eurispes’ Secretary General, Marco Ricceri, joins the Executive Board of the ICBSS Institute

The 52nd Executive Council of the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), held on December 11, 2023 in Athens, approved the proposal of the Director General, Georgios Mitrakos, to co-opt the Secretary General of Eurispes, Marco Ricceri, among the members of the Centre’s Executive Board, which includes the active participation of three “international figures”. The Study Centre operates in support of the international institution Black Sea Economic Cooperation – BSEC.

The unanimous decision was motivated by the recognition of the important contribution made by Eurispes in recent years in building positive collaborative relations between the two areas, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, and the commitment to further promote them in the near future, thus contributing to strengthening Italy’s role in area cooperation.

The ICBSS Board of Directors outlined the following priority themes for 2024: energy, digital innovation with special reference to the deployment of Artificial Intelligence systems, circular economy, infrastructure, and the enhancement of cultural identities. On the occasion, Amb. Lazãr Comãnescu, Secretary General of the BSEC PERMIS Cooperation – who, among other things, has actively participated in thematic conferences promoted by our Institute during 2023 – expressed his deep appreciation for the positive role of the ICBSS in operating with a long-term vision aimed at creating opportunities for common development on topics of great strategic value.
