Memorandum of Understanding between the Regional Guarantor for Childhood and Adolescence and Eurispes Sardinia
Setting up the Regional Observatory on the Status of Minors’ Rights in Sardinia is the agreement reached with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Regional Guarantor for Childhood and Adolescence, Dr. Carla Puligheddu, and the President of Eurispes Sardinia, Institute for Political, Economic and Social Studies, Prof. Gian Maria Fara, presented in Cagliari during the press conference at the Regional Council of Sardinia, on June 7, 2023.
The Guarantor of Childhood and Adolescence, in order to ensure on the regional territory the full implementation of the rights and interests recognised to minor people, has identified Eurispes Sardinia, led by its Director, Avv. Gerolamo Balata, as an authoritative strategic partner to carry out study and research initiatives in the various spheres of social life, related to the world of Childhood and Adolescence.
The studies, research and data produced by Eurispes Sardinia on numerous occasions, including Cyberbullying, Tabagism, School Dropout, Young People and the Net, Students with Disabilities and the Loneliness of the Pandemic; have animated social, political and economic debate and have become a tool for reflection and orientation of political and legislative decision-making processes.
Investigating phenomena, problems, evidence and situations relating to the developmental age also in relation to data, behaviour and practices, surveyed in the regional sphere with the possibility of comparing them nationally and internationally, is one of the main purposes of the protocol. Likewise, the promotion of joint initiatives for the dissemination of a culture of childhood and adolescence, the recognition of the individual, social and political rights of children and young people, the in-depth study on school drop-out, the observation and monitoring of the state of implementation concerning the rights of minors and the undertaking of any initiative for their concrete implementation, as well as collaboration in the activity of collecting and processing all the data relating to the condition of childhood and adolescence in the regional context, will be the priorities on which the protocol will be fully applied.
