Disability and social acceptance, new perspectives inspired by the Union
To discuss inclusion and equal opportunities for citizens with disabilities, in line with the principles indicated by the European Union. With this aim, the conference “Disability and social acceptance – new perspectives and approaches to build a modern process of cultural promotion” will take place on Tuesday 29 October at 3 p.m. in the Sala Conferenze Colletti of the Chamber of Deputies. The meeting benefits from the scientific contribution of the Eurispes Institute and is an initiative of the chairmanship of the Fifth Commission for Social Policy and Health – Forza Italia’s Rome Segretary.
Good economic conditions, a full and independent life, equity: these are the principles strongly affirmed by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the European Day of People with Disabilities, the same ones that will guide the discussion. In fact, the event is intended to be an opportunity for comparison, reflection and discussion on the need to identify synergies and draw up strategies to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families.
The works will be opened by the institutional greetings of the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers Antonio Tajani, Paolo Barelli of the Constitutional Affairs Commission and the President of the Social Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, Ugo Cappellacci. Luisa Regimenti, Councillor for Personnel, Local Police, Urban Security, Local Authorities and Universities of the Lazio Region and the President of the Fifth Commission for Social Policies and Health, Luigi Iavarone, will introduce the proceedings. The following will speak as speakers: Avv. Angelo Caliendo, member of the Eurispes Board of Directors, Mario Rusconi, President of the National Association of Headmasters of Rome (ANP), the Director of the ASL Roma 1, Elisa Gullino, the support referent of the Liceo ‘Enzo Rossi’ in Rome, Stefania Ciasco, the Director of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation – Humanitas University Consortium, Giancarlo Graziani, the headmistress of the Istituto Comprensivo via Poseidone in Rome, Annalisa Laudando, the shadow guarantor for disabilities, Filippo Saba, and the journalist Alfonso Benevento.
