Dialogue on youth, values and reality: Raffaella Saso, Deputy Director of Eurispes speaks at “Il ballo dei filosofi” (The Philosophers’ Ball)

On Monday 11 November 2024, for the event The Philosophers’ Ball – thinking about what is happening, the meeting entitled ‘This is not what we dreamed of as children. Young people, values, reality’. The appointment is in Milan at 7.00 p.m. at the Casa Museo Spazio Tadini, in via Niccolò Jommelli, 24. The meeting will be attended by Raffaella Saso, Deputy Director of Research at Eurispes, with Andrea Zhok, Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Milan, Sara Canfailla and Jolanda di Virgilio from the Holden school in Turin, authors of the book Non è questo che sognavo da bambina.

Stefano Cardini, journalist and co-founder of PhenomenologyLab.eu, will moderate the meeting, while the introduction will be given by Melina Scalise, head of the Tadini Museum and Archive. And it is precisely from Emilio Tadini that the exhibition takes its name: Il ballo dei filosofi (The Philosophers’ Dance) is the name of the pictorial cycle with which, in the 1990s, the painter paid homage to a discipline he loved to mention in his works. The dancing figures portrayed by Tadini highlight how good philosophy must value not only the power of thought, but also the body as an instrument of knowledge and communication.
