Youth entrepreneurship at the time of the PNRR. Event promoted by Lumsa and Rotary Club Roma Est with the patronage of Eurispes

On Friday 18th February, from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. at the Lumsa University – Sala Teatro (Via di Porta Castello 44 – Rome) and online, the departments of the Lumsa University present the event “L’imprenditoria giovanile nel tempo del PNRR” (Youth entrepreneurship in the time of the PNRR), organised together with the Rotary Club Roma Est as part of its RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) with the patronage of Eurispes. The conference marks the start of a broader multi-year project of meetings involving the Lumsa University and the Rotary Club of Roma Est, aimed at continuously examining the changes in the working world and offering young people the know-how to deal with them and successfully adapt to them.

The meeting will be an opportunity for an extensive multi-level reflection involving the social partners and the academic community on the potential and opportunities that the National Reconstruction and Resilience Plan (PNRR) can provide for young entrepreneurs willing to design Italy’s future. The creation of one’s own new business has become an important opportunity, and doing business in this historical moment means becoming part of the changing factors of our society.

The meeting will be opened by the Rector of the Lumsa University, Prof. Francesco Bonini.

Prof. Claudio Giannotti, director of the GEPLI Department, will introduce the central topic of the day, coordinating the following speeches scheduled for the morning session, which will be broadcast live by Radio Radicale.

The morning session (10.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m.) will include speeches by Rocco Pezzimenti, professor at the Lumsa University, Marco Ricceri, Secretary-General of Eurispes, Giovanni Ferri, professor at the LUMSA University, Maurizio Dècina, professor emeritus at the Milan Polytechnic, Massimiliano Garri, Terna Spa, and Riccardo Di Stefano, President of the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria.

The conference will resume in the afternoon (14.30 – 18.00), opened by Prof. Gennaro Iasevoli, Vice-Chancellor for Research and Internationalisation of the University. Umberto De Julio, President of Anfov, will introduce and coordinate the speeches by Ernesto La Rosa, President of the Virgilio 2080 Association, and Aldo Imerito, President of Ecotec. Space will then be given to the “Hands on startup” workshop with young founders of successful startups (Capital Venture Consulting, Pixies and VGen), which will be coordinated by the presidents of the Master’s Degree Courses in Management and Finance (Prof. Filippo Giordano) and in Communication Sciences, Marketing and Digital Media (Prof. Alessandro Giosi), and to the ” Startup in Practice” Challenge, organised by VGen for Lumsa students and young Rotarians, who will work in teams on the problems and trends of some sectors to develop potential business solutions. Prior to the event, tracks on three different sectors will be provided for participants to learn about and prepare for.

The event will be concluded by the President of the Rotary Club of Roma Est, Prof. Maria Grazia Melchionni.
