Eurispes at the Third UNESCO International Conference on Communication in the Digital Age
Tangible and Intangible Impact of Information and Communication in the Digital Age
Khanty Mansiysk – Russia, 17-18 June 2021
“For a digital revolution at the service of sustainability: the common commitment of States and new models of economic and social development” is the title of the paper that the Secretary-General of Eurispes, Marco Ricceri, will present at the Third International Conference “Tangible and Intangible Impact of Information and Communication in the Digital Age”, scheduled for 17-18 June 2021 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.
The Conference, in online video mode, attended by experts from about 50 States, is promoted by UNESCO, Information for All Programme (IFAP) and Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), the Russian Federation Committee for UNESCO (Ifap), headed by Prof. Evgheny Kuzmin, and the Ugra regional government.
Among the main objectives of the Conference are the evaluation of the cognitive elements and the indications and recommendations to be transmitted to Unesco, to the Member States, to the major intergovernmental organisations for the definition of a global report on how to face the challenges of the socio-cultural transformations underway promoted by digital technologies and on how to spread the practices of an interdisciplinary approach for the management of these transformations.
The Eurispes report will be presented in the session dedicated to the theme “The revolution of values: a new interpretation of rights and freedoms” and refers to the contribution of ideas and proposals already provided at the previous Unesco 2019 Conference, in which the basic document was drafted and approved by the experts: the Ugra Resolution on ethical principles and policies to be pursued in the field of information and communication in the digital age. In particular, Eurispes will bring the contribution of more than thirty years of experience of the Institute, which has always applied a multidisciplinary and systemic approach in its study and research activities and will illustrate the main elements that emerged in the 33rd Italy Report 2021 in relation to new strategies for sustainable development and the driving function of digital innovations.
Eurispes’ participation is part of the collaboration promoted, since 2011, with Prof. Evgheny Pashentsev, of the Moscow Diplomatic Academy, which has led to the establishment of a permanent network of experts on EU-RU-CM communication management.
