Agriculture-mafia, ‘ndrangheta and caporalato, a meeting with Marco Omizzolo, Eurispes researcher
On Thursday 21 November 2024, as part of the event ‘4 colpi alla ‘ndrangheta’, Marco Omizzolo, sociologist and Eurispes researcher, will speak at an event entitled ‘Le agromafie e il caporalato in agricoltura’. The meeting will take place at 9.00 p.m. in Ponte Lambro in the province of Como, at the Sala Consiliare (via Roma, 23) and will be based on Omizzolo’s recent publication, published by the Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, Sotto padrone. Uomini, donne e caporali nell’agromafia italiana.
The event is part of the cycle of meetings ‘4 colpi alla ‘ndrangheta’ (4 blows to the ‘ndrangheta’) curated and organised by the Como CGIL, the Ilaria Alpi Environmental Circle and sponsored by the municipalities of Eupilio, Castelmarte, Ponte Lambro and Tavernerio. Each of the four Lombardy municipalities hosted a meeting of the review, held between October and November, with the aim of raising awareness of the presence and action of the mafia in the area, with its dangerous repercussions on the economy, society and the environment. Among others, David Gentili, member of the anti-mafia committee of the Municipality of Milan, and former magistrate Corrado Canfora took part in the meetings.
