Eurispes takes part in the 18th Annual Meeting of the TURI Network on socio-economic transformations in the EU
On 19 and 20 October 2026, Warsaw will host the 18th annual meeting of the European Network of Social and Labour Research Institutes (TURI – Trade Union Related Research Institutes), promoted by the European Trade Union Institute of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) in collaboration with Polish institutions, the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) and the Syndex research centre.
The meeting will be devoted to assessing the profound socio-economic transformations under way within the European Union, particularly in relation to growing regional disparities and the complex restructuring processes taking place across the various industrial systems in response to the impact of new competitiveness, the digital revolution and the need to uphold Europe’s commitment to the green transition.
Eurispes – a member of the European TURI Network since its foundation – will be represented by its Secretary General, Marco Ricceri, who will present the main findings of the 38th Rapporto Italia and the value of the proposed “Exclusion Index”, an innovative tool developed by the Institute for assessing local cultural, economic and social conditions. The aim is to disseminate and apply this analytical tool across the European system, in order to complement the statistical surveys of the main EU bodies and contribute to a fuller understanding of the disparities affecting social cohesion in the European system and in individual Member States.
The TURI Network comprises 37 members: 33 institutes from 18 EU countries (8 of them Italian), 2 institutes operating at supranational level, 1 from Great Britain and 1 from Norway. Promoted by the ETUI and the Hans Böckler Foundation, the Network was launched with its first conference in 2008. Today, it serves as a platform for in-depth study of the key issues concerning the world of work and its social consequences, fostering the sharing of knowledge and thereby working to improve European policies and the proposals of trade union organisations, in line with the principles of the so-called “European social model”.
The ETUI (European Trade Union Institute) is an international body promoted by the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and is active in analysis, research and training, working with numerous universities, academies and expert networks. Its strategic objective is to contribute to building and consolidating a social Europe.
