Yesterday the meeting between the Commander General of the Harbour Office Corps – Coast Guard and the President of Eurispes
Yesterday, at the headquarters of the General Command of the Harbour Office Corps – Coast Guard, the Commander General, Admiral Giovanni Pettorino, received a visit from Prof. Gian Maria Fara, President of Eurispes, the Italian Institute that operates in the field of political, economic and social research and studies the socio-economic and cultural changes of the country in comparison with other European and non-European countries. The Institute is internationally recognised as one of the most authoritative independent think tanks.
The meeting between Admiral Pettorino and Prof. Fara represented a constructive moment of discussion and mutual acquaintance, during which President Fara was provided with an in-depth overview of the organisation of the Coast Guard, with special reference to the main activities that the Corps carries out on a daily basis on the territory for the benefit of the community, concerning the safeguard of human life at sea, the protection of the marine environment, and the safety of navigation and maritime traffic; activities that give the Corps a fundamental role in the growth of the maritime-port economy of the country.
At the same time, the President shared with the Commander General the main analytical and survey initiatives on which the Institute is working, studying Italian social dynamics, as a contribution to the debate and dissemination of knowledge.
The meeting ended with a shared commitment by Admiral Pettorino and President Fara to dialogue synergistically in order to support research and in-depth study of social issues in the sector.
