Eurispes: fact-finding contribution to the drafting of the Sea Plan
The Sea Plan for the three-year period 2023-2025, dismissed by the CIPOM chaired by Minister Nello Musumeci in a resolution dated July 31, 2023, was published on October 23, 2023 in the Official Gazette (https://www.gazzettaufficiale.it/eli/gu/2023/10/23/248/so/36/sg/pdf). In 230 pages, the text touches on the topics considered most relevant for the protection of our Sea and the growth of its economy: maritime spaces, trade routes, merchant ports, armament, maritime labour, fossil and renewable energies, ecological transition, climate change, fishing and aquaculture, tourism, protected areas, diving, European cooperation, safety.
Eurispes, through the Observatory on Insularity, chaired by Prof. Aldo Berlinguer, is counted among the research bodies that have contributed their knowledge and studies for the drafting of the Plan, with particular regard to the themes of insularity and minor islands.
